Kigali naar Nyungwe National Park

Na een ontspannen ontbijt begint een spannend avontuur om het Kigali Genocide Memorial te verkennen. Hierna maakt u een dagtocht naar het adembenemende Nyungwe Forest National Park, gelegen in de zuidelijke provincie van Rwanda. Kigali Genocide Memorial

Het Kigali Genocide Memorial in Kigali, Rwanda staat als een aangrijpend eerbetoon aan de slachtoffers van de Genocide tegen de Tutsi uit 1994. Ingehuldigd op de 10e verjaardag van de genocide, eert dit monument in Gisozi de 250.000 verloren levens en geeft voorlichting over de gruweldaden van de genocide in de 20e eeuw.

Het doorlopende project, de Muur van Namen, herdenkt de overledenen, waarbij veel namen nog wachten op documentatie. De herdenkingstuinen bieden een serene ruimte om na te denken over de geschiedenis van de genocide, waarbij ons allen wordt opgeroepen om persoonlijke verantwoordelijkheid te nemen in het voorkomen van discriminatie en grootschalige gruweldaden.

Bovendien biedt het centrum ondersteuning aan overlevenden, vooral wezen en weduwen, waarbij Rwanda's toewijding aan vrede, verzoening en de bestrijding van genocide-ideologieën tot uiting komt. Chimpansee tracking en Canopy Walk in het Nyungwe National Park

Na het ontbijt ga je naar de kantoren van het park om een briefing te ontvangen. Verken vervolgens het tropisch regenwoud om de lastig te vinden chimpansees op te sporen terwijl ze van boomtak naar boomtak slingeren, en maak ongelooflijke foto's en video's.

Later op de dag maak je een opwindende wandeling door de boomtoppen in het Nyungwe bos, waar je mogelijk verschillende primaten en vogelsoorten tegenkomt die het bos hun thuis noemen.
